| Prompted by a suggestion from one of the 2009 riders, a survey was offered to last year's riders to determine whether or not several changes would be welcomed by riders. Based on the results of the survey, it was decided to stick with the traditional summer solstice weekend and north-to-south dierection, but to move to Saturday. This provides several benefits; it avoids the Father's Day conflict, gives people a rest before starting the following week, and gives the truly insane the opportunity to ride back home on Sunday!
Here are summarized results of the survey:

2. The 100/200 has always been run on a Sunday, to make it easier for people who work at bike shops to ride and to avoid traffic. A Saturday might work better for those who need to be at work on Monday or for those nuts who want to ride back the next day. Please indicate your preference. |

3. The 100/200 has always been ridden from north to south, and the prevailing wind has only been against us once. However, reversing the direction puts the biggest climbs early in the ride, reduces overall elevation gain, tempers the two toughest climbs, and might make the ride more appealing for folks from southern locations. In other words, it "wussifies" the ride a bit. Please indicate your preference for ride direction. |
